Medical Assistant
Work Location:
Dreamlopments Mae Sot office (Tak Province) or Dreamlopments Mae Hon Son Province office. Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for queries of coverage of M-FUND members in partner hospitals in Mae Hong Son Province and M-FUND members of remote enrollments. This position can be based in either Mae Sot or Mae Hong Son, depending on where the successful candidate lives.

Background:
Dreamlopments (DLP) Foundation, registered in Thailand since 2015, is a non-profit, mission-driven organisation working on aid and development for underserved communities.
DLP is currently implementing the Migrant Fund (M-FUND), a project of a low-cost not-for-profit health access fund for migrants in Thailand not covered by government health insurance schemes. The project was started in Tak province in 2017 and has since expanded in Sakeo, Kanchanaburi, Chiang Rai, Ubon Ratchathani, Trat provinces, and Mae Hong Son provinces.
We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join the M-FUND team in Mae Sot, Tak province, and Mae Hong Son province.
Job overview:
Under the Medical Officer (MO), and the Project Manager (PM), the Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for a) being the point of contact for queries of coverage of M-FUND members in partner hospitals in Mae Hong Son Province and M-FUND members of remote enrollments, b) entering medical events in M-FUND application and reviewing hospital invoices from those provinces.
Reports to:
The Medical Officer (MO) and the Project Manager (PM) of M-FUND.
Main tasks and responsibilities:

Be the point of contact (with the MO) for queries on coverage of medical services for M-FUND members in partner hospitals, and for communication on daily medical events.

Assist members in the partner health care facilities: from registration to discharge, act as translator for members and hospital staff, as needed.

Supports Project Officer (PO) and Community Workers (CW) to respond to queries from (potential) members about M-FUND.

Provide support to members to receive quality health care, when needed, through the project network of partner health care providers.

Enter detailed data of all medical events from partner hospitals directly into the M-FUND platform.

Ensure the quality of the medical information captured in the M-FUND application.

Work with the MO to review invoices from partner hospitals or non-partner hospitals where M-FUND members have received services.

Work with CW (remote areas) to review medical certificates and related documents from M-FUND members in remote areas who request reimbursements.

Maintain hospital invoice records in digital and paper formats (Excel file, document file).

Review/reconcile all data with source documents/invoices.

Retrieve data from the database or Excel files as requested.

Follow up on incomplete or erroneous information with regards to medical events of M-FUND members in the partner hospitals.

Other tasks, as needed and as requested by the MO/PO/PM and/or the Head of Programs.
Qualifications required:
Education:
-
A minimum of a High School Diploma or Vocational Diploma is required. Basic training in Practical Nursing, Public Health, Community Health volunteer, or other related fields is desirable.
Work Experience:

At least 1 or 2 years of work experience related to health insurance and data entry, a plus.

Experience working in clinic settings or with healthcare organizations, a plus.

Good experience of M-FUND operations in Mae Sot / other areas.
Skills and competencies:

Fluent in Thai, with some skills in English. Command of Burmese or Shan a plus.

Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.).

Good understanding of databases.

Great attention to detail.
-
Ability to operate in a multicultural team environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-
Energetic, motivated, and able to work under strict timelines and pressure.
Working Environment:
The position will be based in either the M-FUND Office in Mae Sot, Tak Province, or the M-FUND Mae Hong Son office. This position will be mainly working in the DLP office with occasional visits to partner hospitals as assigned by the PO/PM.
