Nicolas Frantz Durier

Nicolas Durier trained as a medical doctor in France. He joined Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF - Doctors Without Borders) in 2001. He worked as a field medical doctor and later as a medical coordinator for the organization, in Thailand, Malawi, and China, from 2001 to 2007, in programs of large-scale treatment of HIV in response to the global AIDS crisis, as well as programs of general health care for Burmese migrants and refugees living along the Thai-Burmese border.

 

In 2008, after obtaining a Master in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, he joined Family Health International  (FHI 360) to serve as their Medical Advisor for Research in the Asia Pacific region, until 2010. He later consulted for organizations including PATH, UNAIDS, and the Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU), before taking on the role of Director of Research of TREAT Asia, an HIV research program conducted across Asia by amfAR - the Foundation for AIDS Research, in a position that he occupied from 2011 to 2015.

 

He was a volunteer HIV physician at the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Center in Bangkok from 2010 to 2018, and has chaired a World Health Organization global working group on tuberculosis diagnostics from 2009 to 2012. He has participated in the development of WHO international guidelines of the treatment of HIV and hepatitis C, and is an author of 26 articles in scientific journals, and numerous presentations in international scientific conferences. 

 

In 2015, he embraced his dream and the challenge of launching a new organization. He founded Dreamlopments Social Enterprise and Foundation, and has since led the development of the organization, which mission is to deliver aid and sustainable development for most at risk populations.
